28th Annual North Carolina Seafood Festival

The largest festival in Eastern North Carolina, this seafood event kicks off tomorrow in Morehead City! Here you can find FREE entertainment from both local and regional talents, sailing events, surf and pier fishing contests, an 8K road race, activities and playground for the kids, plus the FREE Southern Outer Banks Boat Show. This event is held on the waterfront and all are welcome to attend for no cost! Don't miss the seafood, fireworks, local vendors and more!

Fireworks Cruise

Morehead City, NC

Along with the Seafood Festival comes this fireworks cruise on the Crystal Coast Lady. Participants can enjoy an extended three-hour dinner cruise from 7 to 10 PM, plus an extra hour of cruising while marveling over the Morehead City fireworks display. The cruise will sail the Morehead City waterfront and admission is $34 for adults, $20 for children.

8th Annual Flounder Surf Fishing Tournament

This 8th annual event involves catching flounder by fishing on foot (whether that be from the pier, surf, inlet or sound) anywhere from Fort Macon to Emerald Isle. This FREE event is your chance to get close to marine creatures like whelks and sea stars with a touch tank, meet rescued wildlife, make coastal North Carolina crafts, and learn more ways you can help protect the environment. Valentine's Day & Weekend on The Crystal Coast of Carolina

We are going to hit 60 degrees this Valentine's Weekend here in The Crystal Coast. What do we have in store for you to celebrate?  Not only will a great walk on the beach be romantic and refreshing there are many things you can do to enjoy the outdoors with the one's you love. 

23rd Annual "Art from the Heart"

The Arts Council’s 23rd Annual Art From The Heart will be held February 15 to March 2, 2013 at the Morehead City Plaza, units 6 & 7. The show will open with a public reception on Friday, February 15, with the show gallery open free to the public seven days a week through Saturday, March 2. The Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours will be held on Thursday, February 21. Art From The Heart is one of the region’s largest exhibitions of fine art by artists from Carteret, Craven, Pamlico, and Onslow Counties.  Arts Council’s website  

Delbert McClinton in Concert

Mardi Gras on Middle Lane

Grab your beads, put on your best mask or festive costume, and head to downtown Beaufort on Saturday, February 16th!  Sister cities, in conjunction with Middle Lane businesses, invites you to Mardi Gras on Middle Lane on February 16th from 2:00PM to 6PM.  Enjoy New Orleans sounds and succulent Creole cuisine at this afternoon street carnival.

Low country and fiddle music by Gumbo Lily will welcome party-goers beginning at 2PM on the outdoor stage.  Gather your friends in a costumed “krewe” and parade Middle Lane in competition for prizes at 3PM.  Bring the kids along for the face painting and mask making experience under the tents.  Stop in to visit Madame Wendy at her fortune-telling booth.  Challenge your “krewe” to a round of boules or cornhole in the gaming area.  As the festivities continue, All Night Long will be playing a signature blend of jazz, blues, and dance music throughout the afternoon.  Quench your thirst from all the dancing and gaming with a frosty New Orleans-inspired beverage like Bourbon Street Punch made by Cru Wine Bar.  Come hungry and enjoy roast oysters at the Backstreet Pub, gumbo and king cakes from Beaufort Grocery, muffuletta and shrimp po’boys from Spoons Catering Company, and barbecued seafood from Aqua.  

2013 Escoffier Chef's Dinner Series

Carteret Community College presents the 2013 Escoffier Chefs Dinner Series. Advance tickets only. The cost for the full series of three dinners and one luncheon is $150 per person. Three dinners are $125 per person. Luncheon only is $30 per person. Dinner dates are January 22, February 18 and March 19. The luncheon is April 17.

Personal Guide Through The Crystal Coast of NC

JOIN ME AND SHARE MEMORIES FROM YEARS OF PERSONAL EXPERIENCES HERE AT THE CRYSTAL COAST OF NC When you crossed over the bridge from Morehead City to Atlantic Beach there used to be a place full of rides, a ferris wheel, cotton candy and a dance pavillion at 'THE CIRCLE' in Atlantic Beach. All of those things are gone now BUT 'THE CIRCLE' with all of its memories is still there right on the beach where it has always been. 'THE CIRCLE' is still open to the public. A bath house, swings and the 'boardwalk' are there now. Best of all the beautiful, pristine, sand and beach are still there to enjoy! They could not take that away, nor could they take away the fun of jumping the waves or the gorgeous sunrises or the sunsets over the ocean. There is also plenty of parking spaces and there are rumors (and lots of hope) the rides might return and the cotton candy. That would be a dream come true! MOVING EAST let's visit FT. MACON! Follow the beach highway east all the way to the end. Don't worry; you have not passed the fort or the park just because you can't see it. That's the way they built it! Ft. Macon was built between 1826 and 1834 and replaced Ft. Dobbs, a wooden structure built on the same site in 1756. There was another earlier fort named Ft. Hampton. Both forts eventually washed away. Ft. Macon, however, was built out of brick and mortar to stay! Kids of all ages love visiting and revisiting the fort. Climb the stairs and watch for the British ships just like the soldiers did in the Civil War! Robert E. Lee was stationed at Ft. Macon as a young soldier. We will hear the 'Sound of Freedom' loud and clear and rejoice as locals do every day knowing our armed forces are closeby. PINE KNOLL SHORES AQUARIUM is definitely on the list of 'MUST SEE'! The Ocean Gallery at the PKS Aquarium proudly exhibits fearsome sand tiger sharks, endangered sea turtles which they frequently rescue, nurse them back to a healthy life they deserve and deliver them back to their ocean home, a huge array of color and species all in one gigantic tank!
